The Chi Rho (also known as Chrismon or Sigla) is one of the earliest Christograms. The first two (capital) letters of the Greek word Christos, Chi and Rho (XP), are superimposed so that the vertical stroke of the Rho (P) intersects the Chi (X) in the middle.
